Nortrac mini dozer12/20/2023 ![]() or is there an actual wet clutch pack that could be slipping when under load?ĭo to EPA regs timing of chinese diesels seem all over the place. ![]() What about the the left and right clutches for the tracks? my understanding were these were just dry brakes that would stop one track or the other. So I'm thinking the engine clutch is okay since it will stall the engine in H4. I had zero clutch pedal free play, so per the manual i adjusted the shackle for the clutch pedal, i now have about 1 inch of free play. this is starting from a stop with engine at full throttle. High 3 it runs fine, but H4, and then engine smokes (black/gray ) and bogs down and will die. I hadn't done much in High range yet so i just took it for a stroll on our gravel road and that's when i found out the engine doesn't have enough power to drive in High 4th. i tried pushing on a small tree to test this in Low 2 and the engine didn't load down at all it just stopped forward movement and didn't spin the tracks. When i was doing a bit of work or when turning sharply i would notice both tracks would sometimes stop without loading the engine down. Overall I'm impressed with the dozer but I feel dealer prep work is lacking. I have some questions I'm hoping some other nortrac/yuchai owners can help me with before I get upset with northern tool. I have been going over it and been doing some putting around getting use to it since this is my first dozer. It's still under warranty. So i took delivery of a Nortrac 35 XTD (with laidong 4L22-TA engine) I don't have the necessary tools to take this thing apart. Looks like I may have to haul this thing to them to check out. It could also be somehting broken inside. The only way to find out is to take everything apart and clean the entire clutch assembly. It sounds right, I have not move that dozer for more than 6 months. Corrosion inside caused the steering Clutch stuck in the disengaged position due to lack of use. He said this could be a common problem with this dozer. I spoke with the guy at Northern Tool service center not far from me. I'll take pictures next time when I'm there. Unfortunately, the dozer is 300 miles away at my land. Yuchai Dozers have the shuttle shift transmission and. The Yuchai Dozers are also ready to be equipped with a handy backhoe if you so choose. They are a compact bull dozer with extra long steel tracks available and the options of a front blade and / or a front loader bucket. It does look like the right track is not being driven at all. Keno Tractors carries Yuchai Dozers (pronounced You-chee). It steers slightly to the right by itself. I did notice that the dozer doesn't go perfectly straight like the way it used to. Now if I step on the left pedal, nothing happen. While playing with the adjustments, I disconnect the brake linkage altogether. I use it this way for several hours to fix part of my washed out road during the last trip. To turn left, I put on reverse and step on the right pedal. It still steering to the right just fine. Just like stepping on both pedal engage brake to stop dozer. ![]() When stepping on the left steering pedal, the dozer just stop and the engine keeps running as if nothing happened. Get some good pictures posted of all the steering linkages, in the idle position and in the fully depressed position.īeing specific as possible may help in trouble shooting. The steering breaks must stop the track in the direction you want to turn.īased on your description of the problem, I am highly suspicious the right track is not being driven - Right steering Clutch stuck in the disengaged position? Or right steering clutch worn out? A dozer will go in a straight line by being driven by only one track. If it's not steering to the left, and the dozer just stops without bogging down, then it's the right track that is not driving. ![]() Push both pedals in all the way at the same time, then release one pedal at at time, see what happens, then push both back in, then release the other pedal to see what happens. What happens when you push on both steering pedals at the same time? all the way, then only part way. I assume it's still steering to the right? if so then the left track still moves so the left drive clutch is still OK and the right clutch is disengaging and the right break is engaging. Or does the dozer just stop and the engine keeps running as if nothing happened? When you say stepping on the left steering pedal stops the dozer immediately, does that mean it bogs down, then stalls the engine? - If that's the case then the steering break is engaging before the clutch is dis-engaging. ![]()
